Retired Emergency Man’s Association
A Legend Retires
Be
advised that on Friday, January 6, 2006, at 0600, Bob DeCandia signed out for
the last time as an active member of the NYPD. He is retiring with 40 years of
service to the NYPD, 21 years of service to the Emergency Service Unit.
I can't say enough good things about Bob. I had the very good
fortune to work many years with him on steady late tours. I still miss the
middle of the night visits to Truck 8 and the many cups of coffee we shared. He
was and is a class act and I consider him a good friend.
I know there are many memories we all have of Bob DeCandia - from his TPF
days to the present. I ask any of you that have a "Bob DeCandia Story" to please
take the time to send them to me. I hope to compile them and share them with you
all. Have no worries, I will only relay the printable ones, if you know what I
mean.
I ask that you all say a special prayer that Bob enjoys a long and happy
retirement. He truly deserves it.
I officially welcome Sergeant Robert DeCandia to REMA
